How it all began... The Business (Just for the record, The Barber Pole actually started in 1996 under the name of Quality Cuts.) The original owner, Kathy Dalton, sold the shop to a long time friend and co-worker, Nancy Bush, in July of 2004. Kathy continues to work at the shop. Nancy has been a barber since 1980 and started barbering in Virginia Beach at Fairfield Barber Shop in 1985. In 1992 her family moved to Yokosuka, Japan. She quickly started barbering again and managed the CPO Barber Shop on the U.S. Naval Base at Yokosuka. Returning to Virginia in 1998 she met up with Kathy and started working for her at Quality Cuts (now The Barber Pole) until purchasing the shop in July of 2004. At The Barber Pole you will always receive a professional hair cut by an experienced and friendly barber. Our team brings over 150 years of experience under one roof. All men’s cuts come with a hot lather neck shave and a light massage. Nancy and her staff strive to ensure they provide the most professional work possible and do so in a manner that will make you want to come back. |
